DESCRIPTION

W-δ233 resembles an oversized early industrial electrical lever switch with a deliberately old-fashioned, almost steampunk appearance. Its body consists of a broad rectangular plate of darkened metal fitted with exposed brass contacts, ceramic-like insulators, heavy fasteners, and a central lever. The plate is approximately 31 cm tall, 24 cm wide, and 4 cm thick. The lever projects roughly 17 cm from the face of the plate and terminates in a tapered grip approximately 12 cm long and 4.5 cm across at its widest point, large enough for an average adult hand to wrap around and pull comfortably.

The construction resembles antique high-current switching hardware, but its components do not correspond cleanly to any known electrical design. The lever has two stable positions conventionally treated as ON and OFF.

Observed Function

Behavior

When W-δ233 is physically attached to a nonliving object, moving the lever can alter that object in ways associated with the concepts of being “on” or “off.” The result is not limited to supplying or interrupting electrical power. Instead, the Wonder appears to apply a contextual interpretation of the selected state to the object itself.

The outcome can differ substantially depending on the target and, critically, on the position of the switch at the moment it is attached. An object may therefore react differently when W-δ233 is attached while already in the ON position and then switched OFF than it does when attached while OFF and switched ON.

No anomalous response has been observed when W-δ233 is attached directly to a living organism.

W-δ233 was attached to a picture frame displaying a normal still image while the lever was in the ON position. When the lever was moved to OFF, the visible image turned completely black.

The same type of picture frame was fitted with W-δ233 while the lever was in the OFF position. When the lever was moved to ON, the previously static image became animated and continued to play as though the photographed moment had become a video.

Handling Notes

Operational Restrictions

W-δ233 is to remain unattached while in storage. Testing personnel must record the lever position before mounting it to a target, since the initial state can change the resulting effect.

Use on critical infrastructure, vehicles, containment systems, weapons, large machinery, or any object whose altered state could endanger personnel requires prior authorization. The current Destruction Level reflects observed direct destructive capability only and remains provisional because the range of possible object-specific outcomes has not been fully established.
