FSC staff may belong to multiple Branches. A separate Class is assigned within each Branch a person belongs to, so the same person may hold a different Class in each Branch.

All FSC personnel are issued a standard uniform set. Male personnel receive the black shirt-and-pants uniform, while female personnel receive the black dress uniform. Every staff member is also issued a white FSC lab coat and a pair of black shoes.
The lab coat is the only part of the standard uniform required for daily wear. The remaining issued clothing may be worn at the staff member's discretion unless a specific assignment requires otherwise.
Issued uniform garments are produced through a proprietary FSC process that allows small tears to repair themselves as long as the torn material is still present. The method used to produce this property is not disclosed.
FSC Class represents an individual's level of qualification, responsibility, authority, and formal standing associated with their service in a Branch. Personnel may belong to multiple Branches, with a separate Class assigned in each one.
The clearance and authorization associated with a Class may be FSC-wide or limited to the specific Branch in which that Class is held. A staff member can therefore hold different Classes in different Branches, such as Class 5 in one and Class 2 or 3 in another.
Class is not a measure of raw ability within a Branch: a talented Class 4 may outperform a Class 5 at a specific task, while the Class 5 may still carry greater experience, qualification, responsibility, authorization, or formal standing.
